In a powerful demonstration of corporate social responsibility, the Hajiya Hadiza Foundation extended hope and support to inmates at Nigeria’s medium-security prisons. This outreach, held in June, aimed not only to uplift the spirits of those incarcerated but also to empower them with tools for successful reintegration into society. Under the leadership of Ambassador Hajiya Hadiza M. Umar, the foundation brought a combination of emotional support and practical resources to equip inmates with skills essential for life beyond incarceration. The donated items, intended to foster personal growth and financial independence, included:
- • A large-capacity water tank to ensure access to clean water
- • Sewing machines to develop tailoring skills
- • Shoe-making machines to introduce trade opportunities
- • Standing fans and hairdressing machines to support grooming services
- • Food items such as bags of rice, groundnut oil, and other essential provisions
These contributions reflect the foundation’s belief in the transformative power of second chances and the importance of skill development for sustainable reintegration.
