The Theatre Command Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai, led by Maj. Gen. GU Chibuisi, commended the Hajiya Hadiza Foundation for its impactful initiative benefiting 60 widows of fallen heroes in Maiduguri. This acknowledgment came during an empowerment ceremony held on January 16, 2024, at the Theatre Command Officer’s Mess, Maimalari Cantonment.

Representing Gen. Chibuisi, Deputy Theater Commander Maj. Gen. O.M. Bello highlighted the significance of the event, which occurred shortly after the Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day—an occasion dedicated to honoring the sacrifices of those who have served our nation. Gen. Bello described the empowerment program as a commendable initiative that would leave a lasting positive effect on the widows and their families.
He emphasized the need for collaborative efforts, stating that government resources alone are insufficient to support these families. The Hajiya Hadiza Foundation’s commitment to empowering the widows of military and paramilitary personnel reflects a vital intervention in the community. Dr. Abubakar Jimoh, Director of the Foundation, provided insights into its mission, noting that the organization is a non-profit dedicated to enhancing the lives of families connected to the Nigerian Armed Forces and paramilitary. The Foundation recognizes the immense sacrifices made by these patriotic individuals and aims to alleviate their challenges through various support services, including financial aid and educational programs.
