In response to the devastating flooding in Borno State, the Hajiya Hadiza Foundation deployed a team of support staff on a relief mission to support the victims of the flood. While the floods affected several regions across the state, the foundation’s relief efforts were focused around the Shettimari Area, located down the Madube water section.

The floods claimed numerous lives, caused widespread damage to homes, infrastructure, and farmlands, and left many families displaced with no access to essential resources. As an organization committed to community welfare and humanitarian service, the Hajiya Hadiza Foundation took decisive action to address the immediate needs of these vulnerable communities.
Access to clean water, food, and medical care was severely limited, and the Foundation organized the distribution of essential relief materials to ease the suffering of those impacted by the floods. The distributed materials included:
- 1. Food Items: The team provided both cooked meals and dry food items, such as rice, beans, and other staples, to feed the displaced families who had lost their livelihoods and means of sustenance due to the floods.
- 2. Drinking Water: Access to clean drinking water was a critical need for the victims. The Foundation ensured the supply of safe drinking water to help prevent the outbreak of waterborne diseases.
- 3. Medical Supplies: Recognizing the health challenges posed by the flood conditions, our team delivered essential medical supplies to treat common illnesses and injuries. The Foundation collaborated with healthcare professionals to provide basic medical care to those in need.
- 4. Emotional Support: In addition to material assistance, the Hajiya Hadiza Foundation emphasized the importance of emotional and psychological support. Our team worked closely with local leaders and volunteers to provide emotional care, counseling, and comfort to families who had lost loved ones and were grappling with the trauma of displacement.
