Humanitarian Outreach at IDP Camp, Borno State

Clutches Distribution

As part of its ongoing mission to empower vulnerable communities and provide humanitarian relief, the Hajiya Hadiza Foundation conducted a vital outreach at an Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Borno State on January 16, 2024. This intervention aimed to support families displaced by violence and conflict, bringing hope to those most affected.

During the visit, the founder Amb. Hajiya Hadiza M. Umar interacted with displaced individuals, listening to their stories of resilience and survival. A core part of the outreach was the distribution of essential tools and resources, including grinding machines, sewing machines, and hairdressing kits — items that will enable women to rebuild their livelihoods and foster economic independence. Food supplies, clothing for infants and adults, and other essential items were also provided to ease the challenges of daily life within the camp.
Recognizing the critical role of women in driving community recovery, the foundation focused on empowering women and equipping them with tools to restart or enhance their businesses.

Additionally, cash gifts were distributed to support families in meeting immediate needs, sparking an atmosphere of gratitude and hope. The beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation for the foundation’s efforts, noting that the outreach made them feel valued, seen, and remembered. Many shared heartfelt prayers for fallen heroes and all those working toward peace and stability in the region.
